Fun summer times!

Lately Kai and Daila have been very curious about the 4 different seasons. They keep asking us "what is summer?" or "is this summer?" And the only explanation we've been able to come up with so far since they don't go to school yet and because the weather doesn't change enough for them to notice is "Summer is when we all get the time to play together a lot!" With all of this summer talk I figured it was a good time to upload a bunch of summer photos I just haven't had time to do anything with. I guess we're spending too much time having fun! It really has been a great summer and all those people who told us that the time speeds up the older they get weren't kidding! We can't believe it's already August. Sad to think next year at this time they'll be getting ready to start pre-school!

I have a plant that my mom sent to my work my very first Birthday I spent living in California. It was 9 years ago and somehow through all of the moves and sometimes just blatant neglect it has managed to survived. It desperately had been needing to be re potted for a while now, so Billy surprised me the other day and came home with a new pot and dirt. We decided to make a whole event out of it, because that's what we do!

Of course everybody had to take turns getting "pot rides" first :)

Billy giving the step by step re-potting seminar.

The love digging in the flower beds so this was extra exciting to get to be a part of the actual dirt scooping process :)

Daila making sure our favorite plant was up for the transfer. Here she's making sure all the leaves are pretty and clean and ready for its new home :)

So very proud of her work!

Of course there has to be a dance break while daddy does some of the grunt work :)

Daila so geniusly thought her wheel barrel would be the perfect thing to water it with. Our plant is now loving his new home and Kai and Daila keep tabs on him daily. It's been over a week and they haven't missed a watering yet!

Last sunday we decided to take the kids to the RSM lake. It's exactly 1 mile from our house but we hardly ever go. We rented a paddle boat and cruised around the lake.

Dalia and Dada boat buddies. We actually did have there last birthday party there at the clubhouse. Hard to believe their 3rd birthday is right around the corner!
