Mimi's visit!

Laguna Beach awesome fall day. Mimi hanging with her babers :)

My mom told Daila back in July when we visited Ohio that when she came to visit next she was going to get her a hoola hoop. Well sure enough when I started telling Kai and Daila that she was coming, even weeks before her arrival, you know it was the first thing they mentioned. Amazing memories they have! Well, sure enough Mim's tracked down a hoola hoop for Daila just in her size. Daila was excited to say the least :)

Mimi and Dai Dai :)

We went to laguna on Mimi's last day. We decided to have lunch at "Greeters Corner" and hang around the main beach area instead of our usual spot a little further south. It was perfect because there is a jungle gym park there too... Perfect day!

Mimi and Kai on the beach.

Daila swinging on the park swing. I so wish I had a view like that from the swings when I was growing up!

Mimi and Kai having a bonding moment while testing the waters :)

Sand castle time.

Back at home that night playing Kai and Daila's favorite game of the moment "Silly Socks"!

Mim's and I unwinding after a long 2 weeks of work and play. We love and miss you already!

Fun summer times!

Lately Kai and Daila have been very curious about the 4 different seasons. They keep asking us "what is summer?" or "is this summer?" And the only explanation we've been able to come up with so far since they don't go to school yet and because the weather doesn't change enough for them to notice is "Summer is when we all get the time to play together a lot!" With all of this summer talk I figured it was a good time to upload a bunch of summer photos I just haven't had time to do anything with. I guess we're spending too much time having fun! It really has been a great summer and all those people who told us that the time speeds up the older they get weren't kidding! We can't believe it's already August. Sad to think next year at this time they'll be getting ready to start pre-school!

I have a plant that my mom sent to my work my very first Birthday I spent living in California. It was 9 years ago and somehow through all of the moves and sometimes just blatant neglect it has managed to survived. It desperately had been needing to be re potted for a while now, so Billy surprised me the other day and came home with a new pot and dirt. We decided to make a whole event out of it, because that's what we do!

Of course everybody had to take turns getting "pot rides" first :)

Billy giving the step by step re-potting seminar.

The love digging in the flower beds so this was extra exciting to get to be a part of the actual dirt scooping process :)

Daila making sure our favorite plant was up for the transfer. Here she's making sure all the leaves are pretty and clean and ready for its new home :)

So very proud of her work!

Daila supervising.

Of course there has to be a dance break while daddy does some of the grunt work :)

Daila so geniusly thought her wheel barrel would be the perfect thing to water it with. Our plant is now loving his new home and Kai and Daila keep tabs on him daily. It's been over a week and they haven't missed a watering yet!

Last sunday we decided to take the kids to the RSM lake. It's exactly 1 mile from our house but we hardly ever go. We rented a paddle boat and cruised around the lake.

Dalia and Dada boat buddies. We actually did have there last birthday party there at the clubhouse. Hard to believe their 3rd birthday is right around the corner!

Mama Birthday weekend part I

All dressed and looking cute for an adventure :)

Billy and I have been really wanting to check out the Children's Museum in Irvine "Pretend City" We figured the Sunday of my birthday would be perfect! It was an absolute wonderland for little imaginations. Kai and Daila got to go from place to place pretenting they were in a real city where they could be in charge of everything!

cruising the fire engine scene :)

And then the police dispatch scene :)

Dai Dai not afraid to pump her gas an eat cake at the same time!

And then there was a stage with many many costumes. I'm pretty sure they could have just stayed there all day!

Now Kai's a cow on the farm. Not enough costumes for this boy!

Daila's favorite place of all, the garden!

Dai Dai giving Kai a ride across town :)

Grocery shopping girl!

Construction guy at the job site!

Local contractors!

Safety goggles!

We finished the day at Pam and Stevo's... thanks for the birthday fun times! Sally's Birthday and mine are only a couple days apart, happy birthday to us!

Discussing the cake distribution :)

Mama Birthday weekend part II @ the beach!

Part II of the weekend was at one of our very favorite places in the world, incidentally the place we got married too :) Funny to think not even 4 years ago, Billy and I walked down the same staircase in the background to say our vows. These little weekend get-aways are priceless :)

Billy took me to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants the Salt Creek Grill. Thankful for Jen for being close by in Dana Point and able to watch the kids. What a treat!

Cutest sunbathing butt I've ever seen...:)

Kai chilling :)

There are no better beach toys in the world than these 2 adorable faces :)

Sand castle time!

Discussing the fun beach day they are about to have.

Kai and Wyatt raging!

Kai loves the beach shower. Billy rigged a yo-yo to it so he could work it himself. So genius!

Running on the grass, one of the Capri's new renovations.

Big weekend indeed, this was before we even rolled out of the Capri parking lot!
