Fun family times

The babies were so happy that Daddy was home from Portland and Mimi is here for a visit. Daila was so excited she wore herself out playing and fell asleep at dinner. We've had so much fun so far strolling to the park, shopping, and just having fun hanging out with Mimi. Last night we went to Pamela and Stevens for Billy's birthday dinner and they love exploring through their house, and the babies helped Daddy unwrap his birthday present.

Mimi is here!

My mom arrived yesterday and we've all been having a great time being together. She hasn't seen the babies since May and they've changed so much since then. We spent the day going through our normal routine and I'm amazed to say that she was able to get them to take both of their naps in their cribs today which was a first. I guess sometimes it just takes a fresh perspective...:) It will be nice to have someone here to help out, share ideas and just have fun with us. After all she has been through in the last 6 weeks too, this is a great thing for everybody!

Sleepy Space for Everybody!

My mom is coming to visit soon which prompted some long over-due furniture rearranging. It was last year at this time that we moved into this house, and then I ended up having the babies 5 weeks early. So needless to say, we hadn't exactly "completed" the nursery. Up until now Kai and Daila have been sharing a crib and they seemed really happy about it. Well last night was their first night sleeping in their own space. They each woke once during the night and cried but we think it had more to do with the cribs now being on a different side of the room. Also, Daila woke up with a top tooth starting to come through, so that may have been a factor too. Either way when we came in to get them this morning they were happily chatting and playing peek-a-boo over the railing!

I'll have the grilled cheese with a side of cuteness please!

We took a family stroll over to Ruby's Diner today. For the first time the babies sat in highchairs instead of their carseats and we got to order off of the childrens menu for them. They had grilled cheese and some of my french toast and they were happy as clams! Of course they made friends with the waitress and all of the surrounding tables. Such social butterflies already!

Almost 11 months!

We realize we've posted tons of photos lately of the babies in the park, but we had them all dressed up yesterday and a few minutes to spare, so we thought we'd head over there and take a few photos. The babies are just a few days shy of 11 months old and while we've taken tons of photos of them we haven't really set up any intentional photos much less had any professional ones taken. They also are just about too big to do the back to back baby swing together and we wanted to make sure we got a cute shot of that, probably for the last time. they both were pretty cooperative and had fun with both Billy and I there. We think we managed to get some good ones. Enjoy!

Fall Funtimes!

This is from our first official family dinner. We've started eating at the table together and it made things so much easier, and more fun!

Kai and Daila love to empty out all of their toys every morning and then lay in the middle of the pile. Happens like clockwork every single day!

I tried to get a photo of Kai's Halloween Candy Corn socks. He really seemed to like them...:)

This photo is a little messed up, but we had to document the babies first glow stick experience. Kai immediately was amazed and Daila was a little apprehensive at first. But after 5 minutes she was steeling Kai's and trying to use them as drumsticks, but she ended up looking more like an orchestra conductor! Either way we think they were the highlight of the week!

Another day in the park!

This is from yesterdays stroll to the park. I just love this photo. This is by far their favorite thing to do right now so I try and get them over there as much as possible. They are really beginning to develop personalities now and are having so much fun together. It seems like they spend more time laughing at each other now than anything. However they are getting to the "possessive" age and a couple of knock down drag outs have already occurred. The culprit is usually that they LOVE to swipe pacifiers out of each others mouths. Even if they already have one they like to take another just for carrying it around as a spare. Well Kai actually likes to switch his out every couple of minutes or so when he has two. It's pretty funny, were not sure what the fascination is and it does change from time to time. Last night it was the container that some glow bracelets came in. Just a simple little cylinder. That one little thing started world war III! At least we were able to distract them with the actual glow bracelets. Thank god for glow in the dark plastic!
