First Rain Drops

Checking out rain for the first time. What is all this water falling from the sky??!!

Outside showers?

Daila getting a little grass time before it rains.

She likes to pick pieces of grass and study them, and occasionally taste them...:)

She's trying to show you the beautiful piece of grass she picked!
Showing off her standing skills. She can "toddle" up to 10 steps now. But who's counting...;)

Napping with her favorite buddy...:)
Daila woke up from her nap a little earlier than Kai this afternoon so we decided to go outside and explore before it started to rain. It's finally not 95 degrees outside today and we were going to take a nice little stroll, but our whole family is under the weather so I decided it was better to stay home. After Daila and I came in and Kai woke they both sat at the screen door and watched it rain for the first time. It only lasted for about 10 minutes, but I'm sure their little minds were pretty puzzled as to why the back patio was getting a shower!

Get well soon Mimi!

A very sleepy Daila and I having a conversation while she plays with the tags on her blanky.
Billy trying to make sense out of the mounting instructions for the new baby gate.
Daila and Kai inspecting daddy's handywork...:)
Giving it the stress test!
The bouncer use to be for bouncing, now Daila thinks it makes a nice pillow...
Bedtime bottles!

We're happy to know that our Mimi is at home with Papa recovering. Everything is going as well as can be, heal fast Mimi! The babies and I have spent the last few days playing in the park, chatting, eating lots of yummy stuff and both babies are working on standing unasisted and
Daila is even working on her walking skills! She took her first official steps at the end of last week. Now she can take 3-4 steps regularly, but asked that we didn't post any videos or anything until she has had more time to practice...:) And Kai met me at the top of the stairs the other day after breaking through our other gate set-up. Good thing I let him explore a few times and practice stairs with me right behind him! We promptly went out and got a new gate and poor daddy had to install it latenight while trying to pack to get on a plane at 6:00 am. Oh the trials of parenting. At least no more jail-breaks for now!

We love you Mimi!

Kai and Daila's new favorite pastime, watching the light in the oven come on when you pull on the door!
Kai lookin' tough at the skate contest.
The box that the baby gate came in makes an awesome slide!
Sporting their new jammies!
Kai is forever fascinated with the diaper pail...
Family shot at the San Clemente skate contest. Little girl in the background showing off her broken arm...:(
Daila giving the oven door a pull... "Look at the light Kai!! Cool!!"
Here are a few photos from the last week. We've all been trying to keep each other occupied and happy as our Mimi (my mom) is in the hospital recovering from an aneurysm she had last week. She is doing well now however will be in the hospital for a while and we are thinking of her every moment. Things like this are so unexpected and scary to be so far away, but with these 2 amazing, adorable faces looking at us everyday seems to somehow make it bearable. We're hoping to be able to see Mimi really soon and bring some of this magical cuteness potion to help her recover. We love you Mimi!

To the park!

Billy had been out of town all week, so Sunday was our "Sunday Funday" family time. The babies were so happy daddy was home and were so excited to play all day. We strolled over to Selma's Pizza for lunch and then stopped by the park on our way home. The just re-built the park by our house and installed two baby bucket swings. I was so excited to see if we could fit Kai and Daila in back to back and see if they liked it. They loved it!

Yum Yum!

Auntie Pamela having a strawberry party with Kai and daila. They loved it!

The babies are eating 3 meals a day now, and with the 4 bottles it seems like we're feeding every waking moment. Well I guess some sleeping moments too...:) They both love pancakes, quesadillas, string cheese, yogurt, kidney beans and pasta. They've also been known to get a few bites of ice cream in here and there. We were at Auntie Pamela and Stevens house recently and Daila LOVED getting fed strawberry bites and both babies got many swipes of hummus given to them. They both like pretty much everything! The last photo is Daila playing dress up at the Silpada Jewelry party Pamela hosted the other day. Even covered in strawberries she's still adorable!

Photos speak a thousand words.

These photos really speak for themselves. Things have been quite consistent lately so not much to report on, just getting more and more "lively" every day. Kai loves to be held, Daila loves to drum on everything and give a cheerful yelp every few minutes. Other than that we're cruising. Eating is a highlight, they have learned the art of pitifully begging for everything we're eating, so that's opening many "culinary doors" for them, I like to say...:) Enjoy the pics and we'll get back to the detailed play by plays very soon...:)
